not kidding
the title is exactly like what hapenned a few days ago in my facebook.

All started when I shared an old image drawn by :iconhumon: on facebook. the image is no longer in DA, but stills on in facebook and other online sites
here´s the picture [link]
I liked it a lot and I felt happy to see it on facebook and that´s why I shared it.
But, the picture I found was edited, and removed the title and removed the text in the last panel of the drawing, showing just a grumpy straight guy.

It made me laugh because withouth the text it made remember the comment of a gay user that said, just in an ironic way that "the straight flag looked like jail bars, what is it telling us? lol :XD:" and this comment was just a shallow joke, not an actual opinion.
In the same way I thought it was funny too, just another shallow laugh.

BUT

the thing was that lots of straight contacts on my facebook got actually pissed and offended saying that the image was "stupid and non objective" for the way straight people looked, saying also that the image was insulting and disrespectfull for the way it portrayed them: they said it made them look bitter and repressed. Basically, they felt the image was a resentfull thought that showed that straight people are unhappy while other sexual conditions are happy.

And my contacts, I repeat, were offended and told me how people should be accepted for who they are and how we shoudn´t discriminate anybody.

I understand that, no matter who you are, you have the right to say how something can be insulting to you, specially for something you can´t decide such as your sexual orientation. But something trully bothered me:

Everyday, we LAUGH from gay jokes that are issued EVERYWHERE (internet, tv, comics, radio, etc) and in my country, Chile, in most of jokes, gay people are protrayed as promiscuos, slutty and lewd  perverts, specially male gay people (in Chile there are non lesbian jokes aparently). Also they are most of the time portrayed as stereotipical girly dudes that fall for everyone.
Myself laughed a lot with them too,

BUT

THE SPEACHES OF EQUALITY, ACCEPTANCE AND TOLERANCE WERE NEVER MENTIONED IN THESE CASES

because, aparently, "gay people has to deal with that"

"A joke doesn´t harm anyone"

BUT WHEN IT COMES TO A SIMPLE JOKE ABOUT STRAIGHT PEOPLE IS THEN WHEN JOKES ABOUT SEXUAL ORIENTATIONS SHOULDN´T BE ALLOWED? IS THE ONLY MOMENT WHEN THE EQUALITY COUNTS FOR THEM?

Look, I´m not saying that "they make fun of gays, lets make fun of them as well"

No.
Not my point AT ALL.

All I say is, if you feel offended by these kind of sense of humor, remember that YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO DESERVES RESPECT.

I don't see why people are such hypocrites. Don't dish out what you can't take. I mean REALLY! It's so ridiculous that they got mad. I would've told them to unfriend me if they were THAT offended.

Seriously?? Wow. See, I cannot stand hypocrites. It makes me so mad. And when you try to point out what they've done they deny it even though IT JUST HAPPENED!
If we could fix stupidity and hypocritical people, I think the world would be even more bearable.

Pero eso pasa cuando la gente se ofende muy fácilmente con bromas simples. Yo soy transgénero y feminista a mucha honra.
